On full-exposure horizontal surfaces like decking, it will be 1 to 2 years before a maintenance coat of DuroGrit is needed (the severity of exposure to the sun will dictate how much weathering and color fading will occur before a maintenance application is required). On vertical exposed surfaces like siding, windows, or doors, you will need to do a maintenance coat of DuroGrit every 3-5 years. Southern and western exposures will be most exposed to the sun and therefore require a maintenance application sooner than north or east exposed surfaces.
