How to apply SheenPlus to flooringUpdated 2 days ago

Consult the TDS prior to using SheenPlus.

Materials needed

  1. SheenPlus
  2. Paint can opener
  3. Red buffer pads
  4. White buffer pads
  5. Supply of clean terry cloths/towel
  6. Nitrile gloves
  7. Water-filled metal can with a lid for safe disposal of oil-contaminated rags and pads.

Application process

Preparation

On unfinished wood surfaces:

On a surface that has previously been finished with Oil Plus 2C:

Application

  1. Let the Oil Plus 2C dry for at least 24 - 36 hours.
  2. Thoroughly mix the two SheenPlus components together for 1 to 2 minutes, ensuring a ratio of approximately 3 units A to 1 unit B.
  3. Using a Red Applicator Pad, apply SheenPlus to the perimeter of the room.
  4. Within 15 minutes, using a White Applicator Pad, rub the surface until it is even and dry.
  5. If there is too much product, remove excess with a cloth and immediately perform a final pass with the same white pad used before.
  6. After the perimeter is complete, apply a small amount of SheenPlus to the field, using a floor buffer with a red buffer pad. Spread the product so that no irregularities can be seen in the treated area. Preferably treat areas of 20 to 40 SF (areas that are not too wide). Make sure you can easily treat the area with the floor buffer without stepping in wet product.
  7. Within 15 minutes, finish this area with a white buffer pad until the surface is completely even and rubbed dry.
  8. To complete the entire floor, repeat steps 3 and 4.

Clean up

  1. Tools can be cleaned using Raw Wood Cleaner.
Caution
Rags saturated in oil are combustible and require proper disposal. Here are some oily rags safety tips from the NFPA.
