Oil Plus 2C tipsUpdated 18 days ago
- Sanding beyond 120 or 150 grit closes the grain and incrementally reduces the protection offered by the Oil Plus 2C.
- Oil Plus 2C is formulated to reduce the risk of lap lines, ensuring a smooth, uniform finish without visible overlapping or stop/start marks when applied correctly within the recommended timeframe (a few hours on the same day).
- Do not tape directly to a Rubio Monocoat finished surface.
- Do not use any cleaners other than Surface Care Spray.
- Do not apply more oil to a section of the surface than can be managed within about 15 minutes. If the oil gets too sticky during the buffing process, you should do smaller, more manageable sections.
- If the surface was water-popped, we recommend using a red pad during application to help knock down the grain.
- Décor, cushions, pillows, and area rugs may be replaced after the surface is fully cured.
- Furniture may be gently introduced back after 48 hours.
- Do not use liquids for cleaning the finished surface until fully cured. Only vacuum or dry dust mop the floor during this time.
- After fully cured, follow the recommended care instructions.
- When using masking tape to protect painted surfaces (e.g., baseboards, trim, cabinets, etc.), remove it immediately after oiling each section to prevent damages.
- Running powerful professional electric machines should only be done by professionals.
